REMEMBER JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

At Christmas, we all should be thanking God for sending His son into this world to be born and ultimately to die on the cross for our sins. However, we should also be asking ourselves, ‘What would Jesus do this season?’

Every year our church, under the direction of our King’s Kids youth ministry collects donations for residents of Maple Grove Rehab Center. Maple Grove is located in our neighborhood and are always in need of locals spreading some Holiday cheer this season to their 150 odd residents, which are mainly seniors. This year was particularly special because one of our member’s grandmother is there and the head nurse informed us that usually multiple churches come to visit them but this year only our Abundant Life Church is the only church that plans to visit them this year.

This year our new Outreach Ministry partnered with the King’s Kids Ministry and other ministries at ALCI to collect the needed items the residents needed. Men and women’s fuzzy socks, warm blankets and unscented personal hygiene items were in need.

Saturday, December 8th, 2018 @ 12 noon to 1pm we loaded up our cars with all the donations at the church and drove around the corner to Maple Grove to spread some holiday cheer through giving gifts and singing songs for the residents of Maple Grove Health & Rehabilitation Center. We had a great time with our outreach and evangelism caroling through the halls singing Christmas favorites like ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’, ‘Silent Night’ and the many other Christmas carols.

Christmas is the season for giving! This is what Jesus does for us, blesses us daily so we can be a blessing to others in need. We are challenging other organizations (churches, nonprofits, groups, families) to also spread some Christmas cheer with the residents at Maple Grove or at your nearby senior’s home.

We wish you a Merry CHRISTmas and a happy and blessed New Year!
2019 here we come…
