THINKING FOR A CHANGE

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” – Romans 12:2

In Romans 12:2, Apostle Paul is telling us that we must first change our thinking in order for our lives to change. He reveals a biblical truth that no external change can take place until an internal change is initiated.  A true metaphysis in any area of life, must first come from learning how to think. This is why I believe that you must begin to THINK FOR A CHANGE. In many places in the Bible, you will see that the process of change must start in your thinking. For example, Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

You are what you think! Oftentimes people are trying to change who they are without changing the way that they think.  They are concerned with changing the fruit in their lives without examining the root that produced it. The fruit in your life represents the current condition of your relationships, finances, physical health, emotional state of being and more. Your life today is a direct result of a way of thinking, a root. So in order to change a certain area of your life you have to deal with how you think about it.

Thinking for a change is like reprogramming a computer. Although the computer is set to operate in particular way, as new information is downloaded it will begin to adapt and mimic the functions of the new program. Ephesians 4:23-24 (KJV) says, “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Being renewed in the spirit of your mind is a process and it won’t happen overnight. But if you will commit to being consistent, your outer man will soon reflect the change that is taking place in your spirit.

Philippians 4:8 (KJV) says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” You must make a decision to set your mind in line with the Word of God. Just like an alarm clock is set to keep you on track in regards to time, the setting of your mind will allow you to keep to God’s Will for your life. Taming your thoughts according to the Word of God will incite radical change in your life.

So are you ready to experience change from the inside out? Decide today that you will make mediating on the Word of God a way of life and watch God’s very best begin to unfold in your life.
